A Mermaid's Cleanse:
As the world is opening up during this pandemic, I am realizing I still have a quarantine tummy. Carbs and cheese have been my absolute best friends over this past year.
I know spring is for cleaning out our closets, but a cleanse from within is much needed. If you dare to join me on this 3 day challenge, buckle up!
Do not worry, we will have in between snacks and meals. These juices are not meal replacements. The goal is to get out of our unhealthy habits.
Day 1: Sugar Detox
Green juice: apple, spinach, parsley, and lemon ginger and cucumber.
High in iron & vitamin C
2 cups packed baby spinach leaves
Handful parsley leaves and stems
1 medium green apple, rinsed with core removed
1 large seedless (hothouse or English) cucumber, rinsed
1-inch length piece fresh ginger, scrubbed clean
1 medium lemon
Day 2: Colon Cleanse
Apple, Ginger, Lemon, Water, Honey
Rich with plenty of vitamins, fiber, nutrients, and minerals, and will remove all fatty and toxic accumulations in the colon. Frequent intake will detox your liver and clean your colon. It also helps to burn the belly fat and lower your cholesterol.
Half Ginger Root
Cup of water
Day 3: Kidney Flush
Celery, Carrots, Cucumber, Beetroot, Apple, Orange
Citrate helps prevent kidney stone formation. Drinking a cup of fresh juice per day can contribute to your daily recommended fluid intake.
2 Stalks of Celery
The goal for this cleanse, is not to starve yourself, but rather to make healthier choices. Meals that I will incorporate during this cleanse are listed below.
Breakfast: Protein Smoothie
Lunch: Chicken or salmon spinach/kale Salad
Dinner: Day 1) Chicken and Broccoli Stir Fry , Day 2) Soup of Your Choice, Day 3) Zucchini Noodle Pesto Pasta
